Gaining new skills will require some initial reading, research and reflection on your part.  Therefore, I am asking that you create a google folder entitled "TT Your Name" ie:  TT John Smith in your drive.  Within that folder please have subfolders for each Topic ie "Topic One" and  within each subfolders individual documents with the following titles:  "Journal,"  "Worksheets," " Research. " This will allow us to digitally share information.

If you are a person who writes on paper all you need to do is take a picture of your work and place it into the correct folder.  After you have created this folder please share it with me so that I can review it as needed.  We will review any questions you may have in class. I look forward to working with you.

Do the nature of the fluid environment of building and designing in theater, it is possible that we may study topics out of numerical order.

The ability to run a theater is a business.  It needs to have clear and concise divisions of artistic responsibility and labor.  The easiest way to understand this is to look at a flow chart of a standard theatrical company.  When working within the industry, this division of responsibility may change depending on the size of the company you may work for and their individual thoughts upon it's structure

Below you will see a flow chart.  This shows you the multiple departments that are needed to create a production.

As you look at the chart take a moment and think about what areas you are interested in learning about.

Remember that each department requires specific skills and abilities, but it is not uncommon for a designers and crew members to handle more than one area of responsibility.

The world of theater offers many areas that you can apply what you are interested in from math to science, history, marketing, social media and more. As techniques and technology change, so does the information that you will learn.

Below are links to individual Topics that you will be studying.

The information you will be exposed to was put together from many sources on the web, from text books and other media.
