PUBLICITY MANAGER: 

Get the audience in theater seats.

  • Use Poster Distribution, Ads in School Newspaper, Radio and Cable programs and local newspapers. Become creative.

  • Don’t start job two weeks before the show opens. Start at rehearsal time.

  • For posters look online and check with the fine arts department to give you a hand if needed in design.

  • Give a written report to Stage Manager listing the places you will hang the posters. Remember you can only hang flyers and posters on bulletin boards on campus.

  • Have a meeting with the Director of Communications to get correct protocol on acceptable press releases, newspaper ads, photographs and reporter interviews.

  • Hand in all press releases and ads to DOC.

  • Everyone in the school should know that there a show to see.

  • On give a written report to the SM with all info on your publicity efforts

  • Be sure to write thank-you note to everyone that helped, including DOC and reporters. Show letters to SM.

  • Bring in Digital Camera to take promo shots.

  • Contact School Photographer to take other shots for Burr & Burton.
