LIGHT CREW and BOARD OPERATOR:

  • Hang Lights

  • Gel and focus lights

  • Input cues into Lighting Board

  • Check all cues

  • Replace lamps, gels if needed.

  • Run cues.

  • Strike Show

SET CREW:

Set Construction, Painting, Stage Crew and Running Crew: Build, paint and run the show.

  • All major construction of platforms and flats.

  • You will be instructed on the safe construction of the set including the safety of working with tools.

  • Do not allow the tools to be left out after rehearsals.

    • If a tool is lost, you are financially responsible for it.

    • Lock all tools away after each use green room.

  • After each rehearsal, check the stage and house to make sure all tools and building supplies are put away and locked.

  • After the play is over, write thank you notes to all the people that helped you.

  • Strike the show. Which means leave the theater cleaner then you found it.

SOUND CREW and BOARD OPERATOR:

  • Prepare Mics

  • Set Frequencies

  • Place upon Actors

  • Check batteries

  • Run sound check.

  • Run show cues.

  • Strike Show

PROPERTY MASTER-MISTRESS: 

Collect, build and take care of all the props.

  • Read the script and make a list of all the props needed and then talk with Director.

  • Pay attention to all rehearsals to find out what props you will need.

  • On give a list of props to the Stage Manger, including what props you have collected and what props you have yet to find.

  • Collect all props. Some will be very difficult to find or collect. Be creative and resourceful. Don't hesitate to ask others to help, but it is your responsibility.

  • On give a list of all props to the SM. By this date you are required to have all props ready. Do not wait to find everything you need.

  • Before each rehearsal and each performance make sure that the props are in their proper place and check in with ASM.

  • You are responsible for props during the performances.

  • After the play, return all props to their proper owner and write letters of thanks. Do not let the actors lose any props. This may be the most difficult part of your job.

  • Strike the show.

COSTUME DESIGNER: 

Costumes the show and returns the costumes where they came from.

  • Read the script and make a list of all costume needs and talk with director.

  • Do research: what time frame, etc

  • You will need a cast list from the Stage Manager

  • Measure the cast.

  • Give a list of the following to the SM:

    • Name of character,

    • The actor playing the character

    • Size chart of character.

    • Where we are getting the costume. Go to stock first and see can be used.

  • If needed by_ give rental costume info to SM

  • On _ give a report to the SM.

    • By this date, know where each costume is coming from.

    • The only costumes that you will not have by this time are rentals.

  • Get dressers if needed to work back stage to assist actors and to make simple repairs.

  • After the show, send back all the rented costumes in their original plastic covering and boxers with the original paper slips identifying each costume. It is also up to you to return all borrowed costumes to the proper owners and write a letter of thanks.

  • Strike the Show

HOUSE MANAGER: 

Handles ticket sales, seating chart, front of house.

  • Assign Box Office person to handle money and ticket sales the night of the show.

  • Make sure that the front of house and theater are clean for performance. If needed vacuum.

  • Run intermission if refreshments and other memorabilia is sold.

  • Have 4 ushers to hand out programs and take tickets and at the end of the night do a quick sweep thru of the auditorium to pick up lost articles and any programs.

  • Make sure that the theater is picked up trash wise after each show. You are not a janitor but help in picking up large items would be appreciated.

  • Turn off house lights when done.

PUBLICITY MANAGER: 

Get the audience in theater seats.

  • Use Poster Distribution, Ads in School Newspaper, Radio and Cable programs and local newspapers. Become creative.

  • Don’t start job two weeks before the show opens. Start at rehearsal time.

  • For posters look online and check with the fine arts department to give you a hand if needed in design.

  • Give a written report to Stage Manager listing the places you will hang the posters. Remember you can only hang flyers and posters on bulletin boards on campus.

  • Have a meeting with the Director of Communications to get correct protocol on acceptable press releases, newspaper ads, photographs and reporter interviews.

  • Hand in all press releases and ads to DOC.

  • Everyone in the school should know that there a show to see.

  • On give a written report to the SM with all info on your publicity efforts

  • Be sure to write thank-you note to everyone that helped, including DOC and reporters. Show letters to SM.

  • Bring in Digital Camera to take promo shots.

  • Contact School Photographer to take other shots for Burr & Burton.
