History of Musical Theater
To understand where we are going in the world of Musical Theater we need to understand where we have come from. Some say the American Musical is the only true American Theater in its structure and creation. I think all one has to do is look back into its history to see the influences of England, Europe and beyond that helped shape this art form

As America became a melting pot of different cultures, beliefs and such so did the world of Musical Theater. I hope that as you delve into the history of musical theater it may further your curiosity into this theatrical form.

So, good luck and as Julie Andrews sang in The Sound of Music, “let’s start at the beginning, a very good place to start…”
