TOPIC TWO- Preparation for Monologue

Class Work:
We will explore the following concepts Introduced in text book: ALAB 

 

  • Class Norms

  • Warm ups

    • Vocal

    • Physical

    • Mental

  • Beginning Character Analysis


You will be responsible for the following project work that you will be assigned in class. It will be expected that you will memorize it after it is assigned.

Project Work: 
Pick a Monologue on your own and prepare it to be:

  • Memorized

  • Staged

  • Performed


Reading Assignment:
By the end of the week, Friday beginning of class, please read pg. 18-35 ALAB and 53-113 of DA. Since the reading of ALAB is a review please focus on answering one of the following prompts from the DA for a class presentation:

  • Define why honestly listening and talking is important in scene work.

  • Why is eye contact so important?

  • Explain the importance of the super objective, objective, action verbs, tactics for a director to understand.


Oral Report Assessment
Your presentation will be in the manner of an oral report. We will discuss the style that it can be presented in. Also, you will need to present three additional sources for your research. Please review the Oral Report Rubric to understand what you will be assessed on. Your report can be no longer than five minutes.
